You know it's a close race when the top five finishers are separated by less than a second. Matthew Erickson of Oregon won the men's 800 meters, holding off the hard charging Abdullahi Hassan of Mississippi State. Aiden McCarthy finished less than three tenths behind to secure the third position.

Ethan Strand ran a patient race to take the win in the men's 3000 meter run. The early pacing was quick but not outrageous. Ethan stayed in contact with the leaders and made a good move with two laps to go. Gary Martin and Adam Spencer battled down the home straight to secure second and third places.
